Keep Jerusalem’s 50th Anniversary Liberation Tour
Celebrate Jerusalem’s 50th Liberation by reliving some of the fateful battles and learning what’s happening today
Keep Jerusalem – IM ESHKACHECH a public diplomacy and advocacy organization invites you to join
one of its eye opening and enjoyable tours during the week of Yom Yerushalayim 2017 (24th May-28th Iyar).
The 4 hour tour, beginning at Ammunition Hill, will take you
to some of the places where crucial battles took place which changed the future of the Jewish people’s historic and present capital.
We will also bring you up to speed about the current geo-political situation in Jerusalem, giving you a visual and intellectual perspective of the Jerusalem you’ve never seen.
Some of the sites we’ll visit:
Ammuntion Hill – the road to Mt. Scopus; fighting in trenches. Multi-media presentation on the 6 Day war
Mitzpah observation point and the tomb of Samuel the Prophet – getting the Geography right
Kalandia Checkpoint – understanding the security barrier
Tel El Ful/Hussein’s palace – night time battle with the Jordanians in north Jerusalem. What happened here 3,000 years ago?
Commissioner’s Palace and Haas Promenade – here the Jordanians first put boots on the ground 5th June 67
Mount of Olives – looking over Lion’s Gate where the Paratroopers entered to liberate Temple Mount and hearing some special stories
Dates of the Tours – every day of the week beginning 21st May 2017
Time and duration – tours begin at 9am or 1pm and continue for approx. 4-5 hours
